After School Literacy Support - One hour of tutoring included. A $60 value for our two day program. That includes two tutorial sessions a week!
Sunglow works with children ages 6-14 or grades 1-8 for our after school literacy support. Children are placed in small groups according to their age and grade levels. Separate middle school groups are available.

Sunglow Literacy Consulting makes learning fun! We have qualified tutors to work on your child's literacy needs that includes reading, spelling, and writing.
We travel to schools with our program so ask your school about adding Sunglow Literacy Consulting's After School Literacy Support as an activity for your child.
We have tutors in Chittenden, Grand Isle, Franklin, Lamoille, and Washington counties ready and willing to support your child's literacy needs.
Intensive Remedial Work in a small environment
An hour of homework support is included and an hour of tutoring in small groups of 2. Students are grouped together based on skills/ ages as appropriate and are provided with strong remedial work in the areas they need.
Grades 1-8
Middle and High School students may sign up for tutoring only
Tutoring in literacy areas( reading, writing,and math) for each session attended
Students may come Monday-Wednesday or Tuesday- Thursday for a 2 day option
Or Attend all 4 days
Students will develop reading skills in phonemic and phonological awareness, fluency, reading comprehension,spelling, vocabulary, and sentence structure based on their individual needs. Tutorials are in small groups of two children which is a value of 30 dollars per child for each group session.. Kids age 6-14 have a chance to read and develop literacy skills. We can make reading fun and engaging. | |

Agenda
 3:00- 3:30 Snack, read aloud to students for unwinding from school, getting settled in Group Rules discussed
3:30- 4:30- tutoring in groups of 2, first group of tutoring
2nd group receives homework support
4:30-5:30- 1st group tutored receive homework support
2nd group receives tutoring in groups of 2
5:30- 6:00- Book walk/ independent reading or partner reading
Or Activity/game related to literacy work
6:00- 6:30- clean up and get ready for parent pick up
Tutorials depending on student needs:
Phonological and phonemic awareness small group with Orton-Gillingham
Sentence structure group using "Framing Your Thoughts: Written Expression."
Writing genre work on narratives, reports, persuasive, constructive responses
Story and text structure( patterns of organization, signal words, use of text)
Reading Comprehension
Vocabulary
Spelling
Handwriting

Using Framing Your Thoughts: Written Expression
has been shown to improve student writing skills and understand of the core parts of a sentence as well as improve students' ability to write more complex sentences.
